Young researchers win funding bonanza worth €21m

Spate of grants intended to keep early-stage academics on career track

Early-career researchers are sharing €21 million in funding through the Irish Research Council’s Government of Ireland programmes, with 296 projects picked for support.

The successful researchers include 209 postgraduate scholarships and 87 postdoctoral fellowships, with details of the funding set out in a statement released on 23 October by Ireland’s research minister Simon Harris.
