Professorship investigates changes to human digestion with €3.7m from Science Foundation Ireland
A multi-million euro research professorship has been announced by APC Microbiome Ireland to investigate how modern lifestyle has altered human gut microbiome.
Announced by funder Science Foundation Ireland on 1 December, Jens Walter is to lead the €3.7-million programme via a SFI Research Professorship award. The goal of the project is to see whether changes in the gut have made humans more susceptible to diseases.
