Ireland’s main funders to merge

   

The move, announced as part of a wider shake-up, would create an interdisciplinary agency

Ireland’s two main research funders, Science Foundation Ireland and the Irish Research Council, are set to merge to form a new funding agency, the Irish government has announced.

The merger is planned as part of Ireland’s new research and innovation strategy, Impact 2030, which was launched on 18 May.
