Affected students “at a clear disadvantage” due to delay, university group says
Irish universities have decried the “negative knock-on effects” resulting from yet another delay in the issuing of Leaving Certificates, the qualification that students need to enter university.
The Irish Universities Association (IUA) issued a statement after the country’s State Examinations Commission announced that school leavers would not receive any results until 2 September, blaming staff shortages caused by Covid-19 and increased student numbers.
