‘Innovate for Ireland’ programme seeks to arrest brain drain of researchers with industry-backed scholarships

Ireland’s government has promised to push millions of euros into an innovation scheme to fund PhD students, to retain researchers who might otherwise head overseas.

The Innovate for Ireland initiative will give scholarships to around 400 PhD students focused on major challenges including climate change, pandemics and cybersecurity.
