UK and Ireland invest €70m in research centres

Funding will address challenges including climate change and food sustainability

The governments of Ireland and the UK will invest €70 million in joint funding to create two research centres.

The Irish research minister Simon Harris and UK science secretary Michelle Donelan (both pictured) announced the collaboration ahead of their attendance at the British-Irish Intergovernmental Conference and a bilateral discussion at Farmleigh House, Dublin, on 28 November.
