Government approves publication of Research and Innovation bill

Publication advances progress for the establishment of new Irish research agency, Taighde Éireann

The Irish government has approved the publication of the Research and Innovation bill, which will establish a new funding agency by combining the Irish Research Council and Science Foundation Ireland.

The establishment of Taighde Éireann (Research Ireland) is a key action in the government’s Impact 2030: Ireland’s Research and Innovation Strategy, and will serve as the foundation for achieving many of the strategy’s goals.
