The research ministry wants parliament to make changes in draft budget

The Italian government has made the first formal step towards the creation of a national agency for research despite criticism of its proposals from politicians and academics.

Plans for the proposed Agenzia Italiana per la Ricerca (AN) were included in the draft of the budget bill, which was submitted for debate in the national parliament on 12 November.
