Changeover at top level paves way for collaboration with Trieste’s Elettra lab
Giorgio Paolucci is stepping down at the end of this year from his post as scientific director of Sesame—the international Synchrotron-light for Experimental Science and Applications in the Middle East.
Paolucci will pass the baton on to Italian physicist Andrea Lausi, who is also from Trieste’s Elettra laboratory and whose nomination is expected to be made official this month, Research Professional News can reveal. In 2020, he will go back to work at the Elettra Sincrotrone in Trieste, as chief executive officer—with plans to improve collaboration between the two institutions.
