Cristina Messa pledges to work with universities to create step change for national research sector
Italy’s minister for universities and research Cristina Messa has promised to work with university rectors and heads of the public research institutes to create a strategy to overhaul the country’s research via a huge post-Covid recovery plan.
Messa (pictured) told the researchers and academics sitting in the great hall of Sapienza University in Rome on 20 May that investments and reforms from the National Plan for Recovery and Resilience (PNRR) “should support the productivity and attractiveness of our country well beyond 2026”.
