Italy passes major reform of academic contracts

   

Indefinite temporary contracts will be abolished in favour of six-year limit

Italy’s parliament has approved a significant reform of the career path for early-stage academics.

A reform originally proposed by universities and research minister Maria Cristina Messa was passed into law at the end of June as part of a government decree on the PNRR Covid-19 recovery fund.
