Slow-moving Italian Science Fund “will get more efficient at giving money to researchers”

Italy’s funding programme for individual researchers modelled on the European Research Council is preparing for its biggest round to date, with those involved eyeing improvements in efficiency after a slow start.

The Italian Science Fund (FIS) offers awards to researchers starting out, establishing and maintaining senior careers, modelled on the prestigious ERC starting, consolidator and advanced grants.
