Italy’s rectors fear impact of inflation and increasing amount of support earmarked for government priorities
University leaders in Italy have welcomed an increase in their budgets for 2023 but sounded a note of caution about the conditions attached to this support.
The Ministry of Universities and Research approved a 6.35 per cent increase to the 2023 core budget of universities during the summer, taking it to €9.2 billion, shared among 68 institutions and consortia.
