Amsterdam krijgt een internationaal instituut in de gezondheidszorg: het Amsterdam Health and Technology Institute (AHTI). Het is een initiatief van het Amsterdam Institute for Global Health and Development (UvA, AMC, VU en VUmc) en Duke Global Health Institute. AHTI wordt met 7 miljoen euro gefinancierd door de gemeente, en werkt samen met bedrijven als Vodafone, Achmea, Boston Consulting Group en Ahold.
