Netherlands aims to accelerate innovation in artificial intelligence

Government and industry are ambitious about AI research, but where will the funding come from?

The Dutch government has announced plans to speed up the application of artificial intelligence and make the Netherlands a globally competitive country in this field. But while Dutch industry is prepared to invest heavily in the necessary R&D, it is unclear how much support it will receive from the government.

On 8 October, the government presented its strategic action plan for AI. This involves more than 100 actions through which it intends to create a favourable and safe climate for the development of AI.
