Guarded response from academia to publisher’s contract plans
Publishing giant Elsevier has offered universities in the Netherlands full access to its scientific journals in exchange for permission to use their research metadata.
Universities have not yet decided whether to accept the offer and under what conditions they would make their data available if they did go ahead.
