Funder to withdraw from Dutch-Belgian beamline

The NWO, the Dutch national research council, is to end its contribution to the Dubble beamline at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility in Grenoble, France.

According to the NWO, it will continue to pay its share of €1.2 million a year until the end of 2021. This should give the FWO, the Flemish research funder supplying the rest of the funds, time to find another partner willing to take on the Dubble experiment time assigned to Dutch researchers.

The council also said that it would help in the FWO’s partner search and that its other contributions to the ESRF would continue as normal.
