The Netherlands has established 39 Smart Industry Field Labs in the past five years to support digitisation in Dutch industry, with 565 companies involved, a report has shown.
In a report issued last week, the Dutch research organisation TNO said the field labs had attracted a total investment of €240 million. The 39 labs have been set up since 2015, with the most recent four being created this year. In addition, 11 spinouts have been set up based on the labs’ projects.
Almost 6,000 students have become acquainted with industrial digitisation by working on a project at a field lab or through a course offered there, the report found.
