When it comes to AI, it’s all or nothing

More funding must be found immediately if the Netherlands is to lead developments in artificial intelligence, says Inald Lagendijk, a professor at Delft University of Technology. He spoke to Erik te Roller about staying ahead of the trend.

The Netherlands is performing well in artificial intelligence. It has a digital infrastructure, a “digiready” population and a lot of knowledge around data science and computing.

But the competition never sleeps. The UK, France and Germany are investing billions of euros in AI. Can the Netherlands keep up? And should it even try?
