Dutch-German lab to help small businesses innovate

Planned Fieldlab will offer digital twins of real-life products to test production and design

Partners from the Dutch province of North Brabant and the German state of Baden-Württemberg are planning to set up a Dutch-German laboratory by the end of 2020 to focus on small and medium-sized businesses.

The move, part of a wider initiative called Fieldlabs, is intended to help companies in both regions become more digitally savvy in their design and production processes. The partners said that small businesses often lacked the resources to innovate and digitise. In addition, the laboratory is expected to increase and promote cross-border cooperation.
