Report recommends top-down financing instead of funds being spread thinly between institutes
The Dutch government should stop spreading its funding for Key Enabling Technologies between a multitude of institutes and research groups, according to the AWTI, a national advisory council for science, technology and innovation.
In addition, funding priorities should be determined in a top-down manner by a national agenda, not by research institutions and industry, the AWTI said in a report published on 30 January. These changes are crucial to ensure that the Netherlands maintains its excellent position in KETs, it said.
