Science minister says given the diversity of computing needs, sector may never be 100% secure

Towards the end of 2019, Maastricht University was hacked with ransomware and paid criminals €200,000 to regain access to its data. So how secure are Dutch universities?

The ransomware attack, which was made public on 24 December, caused a stir in the Netherlands—even more so, when the university admitted on 2 January that they had paid the ransom.
