Advisers call for revamp of Dutch National Research Agenda

             

Letter to research minister Robbert Dijkgraaf recommends stronger societal and transdisciplinary focus

The Dutch National Research Agenda needs to go “back to basics” by supporting interdisciplinary research and tackling societal challenges, according to a government advisory council.

In a letter to science minister Robbert Dijkgraaf, the AWTI, which provides advice on science, technology and innovation, urged a review of the agenda, saying it must commit to research for the benefit of society and must hold a clear and recognisable position when it comes to science, innovation and technology direction.
