
Dutch numbers show small decline among new home students amid concerns over international student influx
The number of students starting bachelor’s degrees in the Netherlands fell by 4.6 per cent this academic year, despite an increase of 2.9 per cent among international students.
According to the final enrolment figures for the 2022-23 academic year, published by the UNL association of Dutch universities, the overall number of new first-year bachelor’s students fell from 62,956 in 2021-22 to 60,049 this year. Within this, the number of international students rose from 18,373 to 18,902.
