Nato Innovation Fund to be based in the Netherlands

                      

Around €1 billion will be spent on university spinouts and defence technology over 15 years

The Nato Innovation Fund, a new financial tool to support innovation and technology development in the organisation’s member countries, is to be headquartered in the Netherlands.

In an announcement on 20 March, the Dutch government said that three Dutch agencies—the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency, the technology fund Techleap.nl and the Ministry of Defence—had worked together successfully to make the case for the country to host the fund.
