Deal with industry partner ASML will create joint research programme and 40 PhD positions
Eindhoven University of Technology has signed a landmark deal with the semiconductor company ASML to create a 10-year “strategic research roadmap” on topics such as plasma physics, artificial intelligence, mechatronics and semiconductor lithography.
Both partners said they would “invest substantially” in the programme, but they did not say how much money would be made available. The initiative is expected to create around 40 PhD positions and see some of ASML’s top engineers work at Eindhoven as “hybrid teachers”, the university confirmed.
