Utrecht researchers release guidelines to help universities design selection procedures for oversubscribed courses
Researchers at Utrecht University have published a handbook to help inform procedures around selecting students for courses that have too many applicants.
The handbook aims to provide higher education institutions with tools to design selection procedures for ‘numerus fixus’ courses, where student numbers are restricted. For these courses, the universities themselves can pick the students they want, using criteria such as qualifications and quality of application.
