Dutch minister pushes for more equal university admissions

Students with the same grades should have level chance of going to university, says Dijkgraaf

In an appeal to colleges and universities, science and education minister Robbert Dijkgraaf has stressed the urgency of reviewing how they select students for admission, to make the process more equal.

“It cannot be the case that although you have the same qualifications, you are more or less likely to get a place because of factors such as extra training or the degree of social and cultural capital you have,” he said.
