Dutch research alliance demands support for National Growth Fund

   

Knowledge Coalition chairman Marcel Levi says state backing needed to grow public-private partnerships

Academics and business leaders in the Netherlands are seeking reassurance over the future of the National Growth Fund, which they see as a key driver for the success of Dutch R&D activities. 

The fund, set up to contribute to the long-term growth of both business and research institutions, has a budget of €20 billion between 2021 and 2025. Its existence was a major factor behind a sharp increase in spending on public R&D, a Rathenau Institute report from April 2023 showed.
