‘International flows driving big share of Dutch student growth’

Rathenau Institute digs into factors behind swelling of higher education system

An increasing proportion of international students is a main driver of overall growth in the Dutch higher education system, according to a new analysis.

The Rathenau Institute analysed growth in student numbers in the Netherlands in a report it published on 29 January. It found that the share of international students in the country is “higher than in most countries” and that the total number of students in the country is also growing rapidly compared with other others.
