Plan created by Dutch Research Council receives positive evaluation for initial 2019-22 period

A major investment plan to boost digital research infrastructure and expertise in the Netherlands has received a positive evaluation and is expected to continue in its current form.

The ‘implementation plan’, created by the Dutch Research Council (NWO) at the request of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, had a budget of €100 million from 2019 to 2022. A review of its performance in that period, carried out by the consultancy Dialogic, found that the plan was “well thought out” and that its investments in high-performance computing and data storage had been “sufficient” and “well received”.
