Higher education and research minister Matilda Ernkrans wants her country seen as a strong partner

Sweden spends more of its GDP on R&D than any other EU member state—3.3 per cent in 2017, according to the bloc’s latest figures. Only Austria, Denmark and Germany also spend more than the EU’s 3 per cent target, which the bloc is far from achieving.

Matilda Ernkrans (pictured), Sweden’s minister for higher education and research, tells Research Europe that maintaining strong investment is a priority for her government, which was formed in January after months of negotiations following the September 2018 election.
