Court overturns dismissal of Lund researcher

University failed to prove misconduct or unsound methods, judgement states

A researcher dismissed by Lund University after accusations of misconduct has won an appeal against the decision in the Swedish labour court, the Arbetsdomstolen.

The court’s ruling means that the researcher, who was not been named, will receive her full salary from the time of losing her job in February 2019 until now, plus general damages for wrongful dismissal. The court set the damages at 125,000 Swedish kroner (€11,700), a little below the amount of SEK150,000 demanded by Sulf, the Swedish researchers’ union, which brought the case forward.
