Farming lobby group asks Danish court to force withdrawal of statements about nitrogen runoff levels

A lobby group of Danish farmers is suing a professor at the University of Aarhus over what they allege are incorrect statements made on the level of nitrogen pollution flowing into the water off the Danish coast.  

A trial started on 8 June in the town of Hillerød, where the group Bæredygtigt Landbrug, which represents industrial farmers, is accusing Stiig Markager, a professor in marine biogeochemistry and plankton ecology, of spreading false information.
