University encourages early career researchers to speak up if seniors snatch their results
Aarhus University has said it wants to support early career researchers if they fall victim to so-called ghost authoring, where senior researchers take credit for papers to which they have contributed very little—and sometimes nothing at all.
The university’s expression of support was in response to the #pleasedontstealmywork campaign, launched by Maria Toft, a PhD student from the University of Copenhagen. Toft created the campaign to raise awareness among students and professors, in collaboration with the Danish PhD association Pand.
