Think tank says legal protection for researchers must be expanded to reverse negative trend

Denmark is losing its pole position in academic freedom among the Nordic countries due to growing political animosity, according to a report.

Denmark still ranks high internationally on academic freedom but is on a downward trajectory, according to the report from the judicial think tank Justitia. The group warned that the country’s politicians were becoming increasingly hostile towards academia and that there was growing state control of research funding allocations.
