Women remain under-represented in Danish academia

                 

Latest reports show high attrition, with fewer female academics making it to top positions

Although the proportion of women among Danish researchers is rising, only about one in three academics in the country is a woman, a report has shown.

The Danish Talent Barometer, published earlier this month by the research ministry, shows that fewer women can be found higher up in the academic career ladder. In 2020 women made up more than half of the graduates from Danish universities, and roughly the same number of men and women completed a PhD as year.
