Fees for non-Europeans a bad idea, Finnish students say

Organisations reject full-cost fees for international students and warn of unintended consequences

Student unions have voiced concerns over the Finnish government’s proposal to make students from outside the EU and the European Economic Area pay higher fees to cover the cost of their tuition.

The policy is a bad idea, according to two of Finland’s student organisations—the National Union of University Students and the National Union of Students at Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences.
