Swedish research funders push back on government overhaul

Major organisations largely decry plans for them to be streamlined into new bodies

Research funders have pushed back against government proposals to overhaul public research and innovation funding in Sweden by replacing multiple public agencies with three new authorities.

Among the funders expressing concern, the Swedish Research Council also opposed an alternative proposal for a structure comprising two new bodies.
