Denmark sharpens focus on green energy through €150m wind-power investment

Denmark’s ambition to become a global leader in ‘green’ technology has received a boost from a 1 billion kroner (€150m) investment in wind power by German engineering firm Siemens.

The money, to be spent over the next two years, will pay for R&D facilities in the Danish cities of Brande and Aalborg as well as an expansion of production in Denmark to meet a growing demand for offshore wind plants, Siemens said in a statement on 15 June.
