Post-doc squeeze angers Denmark’s researchers

Aspiring Danish researchers could face an uncertain future after the country’s proposed 2013 budget threatens to squeeze post-doctoral grants.

The government published the budget proposal—its first since winning the election last September—last month. It continues the previous government’s push to increase the number of PhD students. But at the same time it cuts the funding for the Danish Council for Independent Research (DFF), one of the country’s chief funders of postgraduates.
