Rise in Nordic ERC starting grants

Three Nordic countries won more grants from the European Research Councils’ starting grants competition this year than they did in 2011. But Finland saw a drop in its share in the winners’ list, published on 10 September.

Sweden claimed 22 grants and Denmark 13—up from 14 and ten respectively last year. Norway won six, up from five last year. Finland won only eight, down from ten in 2011.
