Poland will receive two loans to support R&D and innovation, the European Investment Bank has announced.
The first loan, worth €425 million, will finance research carried out at Polish public universities and research institutes across most disciplines, the EIB said on 6 September. Some 150,000 researchers, technicians and research support staff work in these institutions.
The second loan, worth €305m, will fund R&D grants for PhD students, postdoctoral fellows, senior scientists and research consortia. The grants will be awarded through open calls and managed by Poland’s national centres for science and R&D. The funding will target both basic and applied research.
