Stockholm international student numbers skyrocket

Nearly 10,000 international students were attending universities in Stockholm last year, an increase of 20 per cent in the past three years.

A report from Stockholm’s academic forum Staf showed that 9,750 non-Swedish nationals were studying in the city in the 2017-18 academic year. Stockholm University was the most international higher education institution, hosting 39 per cent of the non-Swedish students in the city.

The total number of international students at Stockholm University was 3,796. The Royal Institute of Technology hosted 3,398.
