Swedish academics have responded with guarded positivity to the government’s December 2018 report on making the country an attractive “knowledge location”.
The report invited the submission of proposals aimed at increasing Sweden’s allure as a study and research location. This is to be facilitated through international student recruitment, making it easier for talent from abroad to study and work in the country, and increasing Sweden’s visibility as a research location.
Responses to the consultation were cautiously positive. Uppsala University praised the report for its “many highly relevant and well-reasoned proposals and recommendations”.
