Austrian universities get €50m in digitisation drive

Government said aim is to drive improvements across the higher education system

The Austrian government has awarded €50 million to projects for digitising higher education institutions in the country. Of 71 institutions that applied for the funding, 35 were selected including all 22 of Austria’s public universities.

The funding, which also went to universities of applied sciences, will support projects such as developing open teaching and learning materials, programming training for university staff, digital mentoring for students, and providing open online courses.
