Swiss funding on course for 2% annual rise

Funding request does not cover Horizon Europe, as scope for participation is ‘currently unknown’

Switzerland’s Federal Council has told the country’s parliament that it wants to boost funding for education, research and innovation by 2 billion Swiss francs (€1.88bn) for the years 2021-24—about 2.2 percent annually, adjusting for inflation.

The council said on 26 February that its goal is that “Switzerland remains a leader in education, research and innovation and takes advantage of the opportunities of digitisation”.
