Spain approves €1 billion for university talent and research

“Unprecedented” funding injection intended to support stable and attractive research careers

The Spanish government has approved the allocation of €1 billion to support public research and university-based researchers—describing it as “the largest public offer of employment in the science system in the last 15 years”.

Diana Morant (pictured), Spain’s minister of science, innovation and universities, said the 28 November agreement delivered an “unprecedented economic injection” for the sector.
