Denmark invests in welfare technology

The Danish government has awarded 70m kroner (€9.4m) for a project aimed at cutting hospital stays for patients, it announced on 21 November. The councils for strategic research and the council for technology have supported the initiative with 45m kroner and 25m kroner respectively.

The Patients@home project, headed by the University of Southern Denmark, brings together businesses and academics. The goal of is to improve rehabilitation and patient care through innovation. The total budget of the project, including the industry contributions, is 190m kroner.
