Denmark-based oil and gas company Maersk Oil has teamed up with Copenhagen University on a five-year research project to chart the chalk reservoirs in the Danish North Sea, the university said on 8 November.
The project is aimed at graduate students and PhDs studying geology and geophysics, and includes a mentoring programme. The parties will share data in order to study the large-scale processes dictating where chalk is laid down and how oil and gas reservoir characteristics came to be formed.
